Sri Ukkal Kamakshi Ambal- A goddess whose eyes open During Poornima Day(full moon)

The Holy Incident I saw with my very own eyes

My Pilgrimage to Holy Kanchipuram

After reaching Kanchipuram to visit some temples. We hired an AutoRikshaw to Ukkal, Cheyyur District. It is around 18 KM from where we stayed at KanchiPuram. So when we reached there we asked everyone about this Ukkal Kamakshi Amman Temple, A holy Deity with a Nose ring. But nobody in the village guided us properly , But finally we ended up at a Very Big temple which was closed. It was the Vaidhya Natha swamy temple. So when we stood there, the temple Granny who was incharge of it , came there and opened the temple for us. It was such a blissful experience. Inside the GarbhaGruha stood a tall Shiva linga( Vaidya Nathar) . It was so peaceful there. After that, when we asked her about the Ukkal Kamakshi amman temple, she didnt know about it properly. But a small boy there said us there was a temple there at a distance which had a similar description, so we thanked them and Nandi ji and left from there.

Reaching the actual temple - Ukkal Kamakshi

First when we reached there, we didnt have a clear idea, then a Temple priest took us to this Holy shrine which was next to it, he opened the gate and closed the front curtain temporarily to make the Inner garbhagruha ready for darshan. Then he opened the curtain for us to Darshan. Then we sat there praying the Goddess with Nose ring, we were very much satisfied. But did not know about the Eyes of the Goddess, and coincidentally , by the Grace of the God, it was a Poornima Day, so the Prest actually said us to concentrate on the Holy Sri Kamakshi's Eyes, siva siva, I WAS JUST STUNNED FOR A SECOND AND GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER ME. namah shivaya, My god. The eyes just opened and closed , opened for sometime, eyeballs rolling, and the priest also said that on the 14th day of Poornima Day, there would appear a moon like structure on the forehead of Sri Kamakshi Ambal. How blessed we were. Jai Kamakshi, Namah Shivaya, Om shiva Kamakshi Porti om..

Om Namah Shivaya
