AUM Introduction: The omkar is the sound of the Universe, and is believed to exist from the beginning till the ultimate end of the Universe. It is the cause of the cosmos of the universe. If one sits down to meditate with inner peace , calmly then he can observe this Omkar. Omkar as explained by Lord Shiv Lord Shiva when asked about the AUM, tells that the A.U.M is nothing but, Akaar Ukaar Makaar Bindu Naad These are the root sounds , which are free from the duplication and they originate from the mother Nature , hence are called Pranav. The Lord tells that, A - Akaar - refers Lord Brahma - The creator U - Ukaar - refers Lord Narayan - The nurturer M - Makaar - refers Lord Shiva - The destroyer of evil The Pranav Mantra is considered to be the most powerful and helps man to attain salvation, and obtain the blessings of the Lord himself.
