A Story Of Narada Maharishi (Narad ji)

Illusionary power of Lord Shiva over Narada Muni

Narad Muni wins over Kamadev

Once upon a time, The great Narada muni was performing tapas at the Himalayas where the Lord Shiva Used to perform regularly. Lord Indra Was fearful about this and hence sent Kamadev to obstruct Narad Muni's tapas. But Kamadev remembered about what had happened to Him when he had done the same to Lord Shiva. So he Backed off. After Narad Muni's tapas was completed ,He was so proud to Hear this, so he wanted to narrate this to the Mahadev.
So he went to the Kailash and met Mahadev(lord Shiv), he narrated the whole story, Lord Shiva listened the whole story quitely though he knew about it earlier, as He is considered to be a TRIKALA DARSHI, the one who knows the past, present, future. Then  Lord shiv smiled , but told Narad Muni not to telll this to anybody. But Narad Muni waas not impressed about Lord shiva's comments. So he went to Lord Brahma, and narrated His story , Lord Brahma to smiled and asked him to not tell this to anybody. But still not satisfied, Narad Muni went to Lord Narayana( Maha Vishnu) and narrated the story of how he won over Kamdev. So Lord Narayana too smiled , but this time he realized that, this was all Lord shiva's illusionary power. so he remained silent.

Narad's ego destroyed

So after Lord Narayana's darshan he was returning back from there, until he saw a beautiful city ruled by King Sheelnidhi. He came to know that Sheelnidhi had arranged a swayamwar for His daughter. Narad muni also went there out of curiosity. Then infatuated by her beauty, Narad Muni immediately came to Lord Vishnu and asked Him to make Narad Muni as handsome as he was. Lord Vishnu turned Narad's whole body just like His, except his head. It seemed like a monkey's head. Narad never noticed this.

 At the swayamvar,

Lord Narad was present , along with Maha Vishnu. The King's Daughter saw Narad with the Monkey's Face, and turned to Lord Maha Vishnu , and offered the garland to him. Narad Muni noticed his face like a Monkey and got angry over this feat.
So he left to Vaikunta, and cursed Maha Vishnu that the Lord would be born as a commom man and would be separated from his wife.; And a monkey would come for their rescue.

Lord Vishnu accepted Narad's curse without any hesitation, and then he removed the illusionary power over Narad. Narad realized his mistake and Bowed down seeking Lord Maha Vishnu and Lord Shiv's blessing.

Sri Ukkal Kamakshi Ambal- A goddess whose eyes open During Poornima Day(full moon)

The Holy Incident I saw with my very own eyes My Pilgrimage to Holy Kanchipuram After reaching Kanchipuram to visit some temples. We hired an AutoRikshaw to Ukkal, Cheyyur District. It is around 18 KM from where we stayed at KanchiPuram. So when we reached there we asked everyone about this Ukkal Kamakshi Amman Temple, A holy Deity with a Nose ring. But nobody in the village guided us properly , But finally we ended up at a Very Big temple which was closed. It was the Vaidhya Natha swamy temple. So when we stood there, the temple Granny who was incharge of it , came there and opened the temple for us. It was such a blissful experience. Inside the GarbhaGruha stood a tall Shiva linga( Vaidya Nathar) . It was so peaceful there. After that, when we asked her about the Ukkal Kamakshi amman temple, she didnt know about it properly. But a small boy there said us there was a temple there at a distance which had a similar description, so we thanked them and Nandi ji and left from there...
